In 1993, when the DTM adopted the new FIA Class 1 rules, the door opened for the development of technologies previously unseen in this category. Alfa Romeo entered the series with the 155 V6 TI – an extraordinary machine with a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine, all-wheel drive, and a body featuring an aggressive and, above all, aerodynamically efficient silhouette. In its debut season, Alfa secured an incredible 14 wins and, with driver Nicola Larini behind the wheel, claimed the title, defeating teams from Mercedes-Benz and Opel.

The offered example is from the 1994 season, when Alfa Romeo fielded an upgraded version with active suspension and the Kelsey-Hayes ABS system. This particular car is one of the ten built directly by Alfa Corse and was driven by former F1 driver Christian Danner in the Schübel Engineering team. That year, it secured two second-place finishes at the Nürburgring and finished 9th in the overall standings.

In the following 1995 season, this vehicle passed into the hands of the Euroteam squad based in Arese, where it was piloted by Stefano Modena, another former Formula 1 driver, in the first four races of the DTM season. The car’s racing career ended on a high note, achieving 5th place and later 2nd place at the Avus circuit in early May. After these races, the 155 returned to Alfa Corse as a display piece.

In 2017, this competitive Alfa Romeo underwent a thorough “bare metal” restoration under the supervision of expert Fabrizio Pandolfi and has covered only minimal mileage since. It comes with a rich spares package, including a spare engine, two gearboxes, a front differential, and its original Wagenpass.
